What Does Meteorology cover?

Meteorology is the scientific study of the atmosphere, especially weather and weather forecasting.

In this scentific study of the earths atmosphere we will look at: the Atmosphere and temperature and pressure, density and how that is connected to altimetry. Humidity, adiabatics and stability. Winds, both upper and lower atmospheric winds including the jetstream. What cauases turbulence and how to predict it. Clouds types and characteristics together with precipitation and thunderstorms. Icing and conditions for icing and visibility.

Predicting weather with pressure systems, fronts and occlusions together with climatology, local winds and weather.

We will also look at meteorological services, METARS and TAFS together with hown to interpret weather charts.
