What does Operational Procedures cover?
Operational Procedures is concerned with the operation of civil aircraft operating as Commercial Air Transport (CAT). It contains those rules & procedures that apply to Operators whose primary place of business is in an EASA member state.
OP covers the following topics
- ICAO Annex 6 which contains the Standards and Recommended Practices to which the contracted member states agree to be bound by.
- How to operate civil aircraft in CAT operations in an EASA member state.
- We then move onto Operator Supervision and Certification which covers the procedures operators need to put in place.
- All weather operations alongside aircraft equipment and instruments.
- Composition of the crew, their training, licence issue and recurrent checks.
- Procedures for operating over the North Atlantic Ocean including ETOPS.
- Special Ops and Hazards including de-icing, bird control and noise abatement.
- Fire and Smoke, Pressurisation Failure, Windshear and Microburst, Wake Turbulence.
- Security procedures.
- Emergency and precautionary landings including ditching.
- Fuel jettison, the carriage of Dangerous Goods and Contaminated Runways.
The exam consists of 42 questions with a time limit of 1 hr 15 min.
